The article proposes a new reading
of themyth of Sysiphe, whose
intelligenceand subterfuges
representedanunequivocal signof
man’s rebelliousnessbeforedivine
determinations. For his audacity, Zeus
condemnedhim, for all eternity, to
pusha stoneuphill,whichalways
rolleddown theother sideof the

Sysiphe facedhispunishment is a
permanent reason for amazement,

Taboos arebeingbroken in thework
environment. Someof them for the
better, but someare still cause for
perplexity… This articledealswith
the ideaof spirituality in thework
environment, and tries to
investigatewhether it is for real
or if there is a risk thatweare faced
withyet another formof fad-
management, as it happened so
often in thepast.
On thebasisof substantial
bibliographical reference, theauthor
admits that thechange from theclear
cutmaterialism involved in straight
profit-making toproposals for a
frameworkof spiritual considera-
tions, in thebusiness arena, is a task
of giganticproportions.However, if
thedifficulties areconsiderable, so
are–apparently– the rewards.The
article’s conclusion is that – both for
people and their organizations – the
spiritual approachmay represent a
qualitativemove, and a breachof
pattern, never consideredbefore.
